Puttering Around and a Sick Little One
I have a few posts in the works but currently I’m being snuggled by a very tired, stuffy little one. I took a little cat nap too. Being awake between the hours of 1 and 5am has made for a rather slow day of puttering around.
Soup was on the stove by 9am…
A little game of sink or float with things around the kitchen
A smiling little one in blue Yeti jammers on the counter, with giggles spurred from discovery and a love for water
Playing around with clouds, and helpful small hands as I try to build out a composition… he thinks the painted pink ones are the prettiest clouds
One cloud looked like Pluto he said, so naturally he gave it a food bowl and water dish before it found its way into the work too
And finally down for a nap before heading off to get his big sister, who is very much looking toward to a date night with me tonight and being done with school for the week.
This week I think each of us has felt off-kilter for our own reasons I imagine you may have too. It’s something Janet from @MovementIsLifeStudio discussed this week in her post… and her words were just what I needed to read. Maybe you do too…
I always enjoy reading her words but this week when my chest felt tight, my work felt foolish and my head was spinning and unsettled I found myself feeling especially grateful to have come across her work and be able to take it in.
She highlighted an artist I was unfamiliar with named Lynette Yiadom-Boakye (YAH-dum BOH-ah-chee). An artist I’m very much looking forward to diving into further now.
I’ll leave you with some photos from my day today and the promise of more on the way.
The flowers illustrated are Poppy Mallow’s, native to the USA.
The flowers photographed below are dried Mistflowers in the garden… they look particularly lovely when the golden glow from the setting sun hits them.
