Ten things worth sharing this week….

Some Prairie Verbena that shows up every year (with a slightly expanded territory) with the daintiest blooms that fade out in the most vibrant true blue color you can imagine with a cool white edge.

A Wild Petunia bloom I found in the garden that made my kids ooooh and ahhhh. *Wild Petunia is another native plant, it’s blooms close up in the afternoon but they have the prettiest soft purple coloring with deep red-violet veining.

My daughter decorating a birthday tree…

We celebrated my husband’s birthday this week and after lots of joking around from him about not getting a birthday tree like the kids, we decided to make him one.

The birthday tree’s are made up of handmade ornaments that represent little things about the year or things they love and a collection of picture ornaments. I make new ornaments to add every year and when our kids are all grown up it will be something to take with them. It’s one of my favorite traditions and the kids absolutely love decorating their trees.

This t-shirt I ordered from fellow substacker Beth Spencer from Introvert Drawing Club. I got one for myself and then my kids asked for one too, so all three of us have our own now. I suspect I will be folding them at least once twice a week after doing the wash.

Rebecca Wisent’s post In Times Of Trouble, Serve was excellent, it encouraged me to take a closer look at my garden and the little nibbles coming from petals and learn more about the 4,000 different Bee Species native to the United States. I’m also very much looking forward to seeing her bring her new Substack to life that will feature other writers and artists.

And last but not least a shot from my driveway just before I headed inside… the little rolling bookcase I referenced in my last post with chipboard attached is proving to be the perfect set up for summer evenings working outside.

For reference sake, I’m working on two more posts currently to share how I store my art supplies and another for my native plant series (which is currently one post but ya gotta start somewhere).

I can’t help it, here’s one more from the garden. It’s Hello Yellow Milkweed we grew from seed and it’s so cheery I can’t help but smile when I see it.
